Installing Presets in Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) 10.3+ (Windows & Mac)

1. Open your image in Adobe Photoshop.
2. At the top menue click on Filter and select “Camera Raw Filter”.
3. On the right you see the word “Basic” click the small burger next to it. Then, click “Load Settings”.
4. Choose the .xmp file(s) from downloaded and unzipped folder. Then click on “Load” button.
5. To apply a preset, click on OK button.

Tips & Tricks for Using Food Photo Filters

Tips & Tricks for Amazing Food Photos

• Lighting is Important: It is vital to use natural light from a window. Soft, gentle light makes your food look great. Stay away from bright, direct sunlight because it can create harsh shadows. Try different angles and positions to find the perfect lighting for your dish.
• How you Arrange your Food matters: Use props, utensils, or garnishes to make it look better and tell a story. The “rule of thirds” helps you create balanced and visually appealing photos; follow it.
• Dwell on the Details: Capture the detailed details of your dish. Utilize a large aperture (small f-number) to generate a shallow depth of field, which would cause your subject to stand out against a blurred background. Highlight the textures, colors, and patterns to create a visually appealing food item.
• Utilize Color and Contrast: Apply color to make the food appear delicious. Match the natural colors of your dish with the appropriate background and props. Ensure there exists sufficient contrast to enable the food to stand out; albeit refrain from overdoing this type of thing or making your colors look unreal.
• Practice a lot: Taking pictures of food is an art and the more you do it the better you will become. Try different angles, styles, and settings do not be afraid. Master how to use your camera’s manual settings so that you can be in control of your shots entirely. Look at your photos critically, learn from your mistakes and keep improving yourself.
