FAQ - Classic Film Presets Collection
Which version of Lightroom do these presets work with?
The presets and profiles work with Lightroom Classic and Lightroom (cloud-based) on both Mac and Windows. They are XMP files, compatible with all versions of Lightroom that support the XMP format, including the most current releases.
What are the LUTs for and which software supports them?
The LUT files (.cube format) are for video editing, they let you apply the same film colour grades to your video footage. They work in Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and Final Cut Pro. If you shoot hybrid photo and video, the LUTs keep your still and video colour consistent across the same project.
Do these presets work on JPEG files as well as RAW?
Yes, they work on both RAW and JPEG files. RAW files give the best results because the preset has full sensor data to work with. On JPEG files the colour rendering is slightly less accurate since the camera has already processed the image, but the results are still good for most situations.
Can I use these presets on Lightroom Mobile?
Yes. You can use the profiles in your Lightroom mobile app. You can also export the presets as DNG files from Lightroom desktop and import them into Lightroom Mobile. Once synced via Adobe Creative Cloud, the presets are available across all your devices.
Do I need a subscription to keep using these presets?
No. This is a one-time purchase. Once downloaded, the presets, profiles, and LUTs are yours permanently with no expiry date, no account requirement, and no future charges.

Can I adjust the presets after applying them?
Yes, and you're encouraged to. Every preset is a starting point, not a fixed filter. After applying, use the Lightroom sliders, exposure, white balance, HSL, tone curve, to fine-tune for your specific camera, light, and subject. The Clean Edit presets included in the pack are designed to help with exactly this.
What if the preset looks too strong or too subtle on my images?
Start by adjusting the Exposure and White Balance sliders before applying the preset, most presets perform best on correctly exposed files. If a preset reads too strong, move the preset amount slider to the left, to decrease density.
Is this collection suitable for beginners?
Yes. Each preset applies a complete film look in one click with no technical knowledge needed. The included installation guide walks through setup step by step. The 16 Clean Edit presets are particularly useful for beginners, they handle common adjustments like exposure correction and colour balance so you can build on the film look without starting from scratch.

I primarily shoot Fuji Pro 400H on film and have been looking for a Lightroom equivalent that doesn’t look like someone just desaturated the image and called it airy. The Pro 400H preset in this pack actually captures the cool shadow character and luminous highlight rolloff of the real film. My Sony files are notoriously tricky with warm skin tones, the profile compensates for that in a way that saves me 10 minutes per image in manual correction. I also bought individual Legendary Presets packs before this and the quality is consistent. The LUTs are a bonus I wasn’t expecting, I use DaVinci for short films and matching my photo grades to video is now straightforward.
